Architecture Update

We know, we know.......

you have been missing our updates on the world of architecture-according to us......so here it is.

Sara has been tearing through projects getting everything built and moving happy clients into their new spaces. She has recently completed the EMT station and Data center for Children's Hospital here in Columbus. She has also completed the second phase (she also did the first phase) of a magnet high school called Metro School which is associated with Ohio State, Batelle Research Institute, and Columbus Public Schools. Senator and astronaut John Glenn toured the school last week! It has been published in numerous newspapers and a big article was recently in Columbus Monthly magazine!

She is currently working on an awesome bathroom and master suite addition for an existing home here in town as well as a competition that will be published in the October issue of Columbus Monthly. She continues her work with the AIA Gala Committee by designing the invitiation (mail and evite) graphics that were sent out to thousands in and around Columbus.

Probably the most exciting moment for Sara was when she hit the "submit" button on the USGBC website. She submitted the documentation to the USGBC to go after a silver LEED certification on the Lorain County Community College project that recently opened. It is her first completed LEED project in which she was the accredited professional managing the project. They will find out in a few months if they get the silver certification. It is a great accomplishment and something that very rarely happens in Columbus.

Not that much has changed in Todd's work world. He continues work on the downtown historic Seneca Hotel - it will never finish. The award winning Sparks Pharmacy and medical office building is almost complete - one more month to go! A few additional projects are wrapping up while new ones are just beginning.

He has begun design on a $100 million dollar corporate headquarters, and a new coporate headquarters for a constuction company. The construction company is the first project that T brought to the company and it is also going to be his first LEED certified building. He will be managing and designing both the project and LEED credification. He is now annoying Sara with a million questions.

Todd was also recently appointed to the Italian Village Commision by the Mayor of Columbus. He will serve on the 7 person committee for the next three years. The commission is essentially a design review board for historic Italian Village, where Todd and Sara work. It is one of the 5 different historic commissions that cover the 17 or so historic districts in Columbus.

Sorry that was so long - we won't post another architecture world update for a while so we wanted everyone to it eat up!
