Howdy Folks!

s+ t took a quick trip to Austin, Texas in early April. It was the first time that either of us had been there (in recent memory - Sara looked at UT Austin for undergrad). T had driven through Amarillo a few times but otherwise we were first timers in the lonestar state.

S actually was in town for a conference where her firm was presenting (NIRSA - National Intramural Recreational Sports Association). For those of you who don't know, S made a major change in January to change firms and work for Moody Nolan. The website is in the process of being redesigned - we'll let you know when it is ready - that will give you a great picture of the work they do. S has found a great fit at MN working on 3 large collegiate recreation centers in Pennsylvania and New York.

Anyway, back to our story...seeing the advantage to take a little time off, T went down a day later and spent the weekend with S. Unfortunately it was not really a vacation, so T spend the time bumming around and seeing sights while S worked. We honestly didn't see each other for the first two days of the trip.
On the first day T made his way down to San Antonio to check out local architecture and tourist sites. He made all the stops (alamo, riverwalk....). San Antonio was a mad house due the NCAA basketball final four in town and it made for a long day.

Day two...It was time to check out the sites in Austin. T again, checked out local buildings and the sites (UT, state house, congress, downtown). Later that night he found some local BBQ and watch the Buckeyes in the NIT finals.

On the last day, S was done with the fancy dinners (entertaining current and previous clients) and all day expos (meeting prospective clients), so we were able to hang out all day. We met up with Sherri and Cliff (S's Aunt and Uncle who live just outside of Austin. Sherri is Sara's mom's sister). They took us around to their favorite spots, a great restaurant (world class tamales!) and finally to see the famous bats! They were great hosts and we were happy we all could meet up!

If was a fun little trip and we really enjoyed Austin and hope we can go back soon. Check out some photos: click on the link below.http://picasaweb.google.com/studiostinfo/Austin08?authkey=Q5IgxN54vSU
