Sara gave birth on Monday, July 6th, 2009 at 4:23 p.m. to Oren Douglas Boyer. He weighed 8 lbs. 5 oz. and measured 20 1/2" long. Mother, father, and son are home and doing well. The expected due date was July 17th, so it was quite the surprise when Sara's water broke Monday morning!
Our son's name is taken from our families. Oren was the name of Todd's great, great grandfather on his mother's side. Douglas is Sara's father's first name. Douglas is also Todd's maternal grandfather's middle name. Actually, we've had this name selected for sometime in case it was a boy, probably before we even knew we were expecting, we've just been waiting for him to arrive! His name suites him perfectly!
