Ear Tubes

Last week Rosie Bear had tubes put in her ears.  Sorry we did not spread the news earlier but it has just been crazy around here dealing with everything Rosie.

Everything went great - and she appears to be better already.

She was the first kid of the morning at the surgery center.  She had to report at 7:00 for surgery at 8:30.  The staff was really great and made her feel special.  Luckily, since she is so young she had no idea what was going on - so no anxiety.  She just laughed and giggled with the nurses.  Even as they wheeled her away she was smiling with no worries.

The procedure only last 15-20 mintues, so no big deal.  The surgeon told us that she really needed it because there was infection packed in her middle ear and that she should be able to hear much better as well (although we haven't noticed any hearing issues).

She came to a few minutes later and we were able to see her.  She was out of it and really hungry (she was not to eat anything from midnight on).  So she had some water which made her a little better but she was not happy when she woke.  We were able to change her out of the gown and head home about 20 minutes later.  She slept all the way home and for 2 more hours after we made it home.

We will keep you up to date with her progress but she should be feeling much better and maybe we can all get some sleep!
